Boda boda loans — fund the bike like the business it is
A boda is not a personal expense — it is a working asset that earns every day it is on the road. Shaba Rider is built around how riders actually earn: daily, in cash, with costs that cannot wait for a two-week approval process.
What riders use Shaba Rider for
The four things that come up most: buying your own bike so the daily hire stops going to someone else; fuel and daily float so the day starts with a full tank instead of a loan from a friend; spares and servicing — tyres, chain, brakes — fixed today so you are earning tomorrow; and insurance and licence renewal so a compliance stop does not cost you a week of work.
No logbook, no guarantor
Shaba Rider is unsecured. We do not take your logbook, we do not hold your bike, and there is no guarantor to chase. That matters in this trade specifically — a lender holding your logbook is holding your ability to work, and a rider who cannot work cannot repay anyone.
The terms, in plain shillings
Loans run from KSh 5,000 to KSh 100,000 over one 30-day cycle at 30%. Finish paying within 21 days and the interest drops to 21%. There is a one-off KSh 500 registration fee per client, charged once and never deducted from the loan — the amount approved is the amount that reaches your M-Pesa.
Stage groups welcome
Riders organised into a stage or sacco can apply individually. Talk to your nearest branch about how multiple riders from the same stage are handled.
