Brisk Credit is a CBK-licensed digital credit provider
Before you borrow from anyone in Kenya, there is one check worth more than every review and advert combined: is the lender on the Central Bank of Kenya’s Digital Credit Providers directory? Brisk Credit Limited is — and this page shows you how to confirm it yourself.
Our entry in the CBK directory
Brisk Credit Limited appears as entry 37 in the Central Bank of Kenya Directory of Digital Credit Providers, licensed on 2 September 2025. Registered office: Commodore Office Suites, Kindaruma Road, Nairobi. P.O. Box 22637-00505, Nairobi. Telephone +254 713 329 268. You do not have to take our word for it — open the CBK directory and search for "Brisk".
Why CBK licensing matters to you as a borrower
Since 2022 every digital credit provider in Kenya must be licensed by the Central Bank. Licensing is not a formality — it binds a lender to rules on interest disclosure, debt-collection conduct, and how your personal data may be used. An unlicensed lender is bound by none of it, and you have no regulator to complain to when something goes wrong.
How to check any lender in 60 seconds
Open the CBK Directory of Digital Credit Providers — a PDF published and updated by the Central Bank. Press Ctrl+F and type the lender's registered company name (not its app name; many apps trade under a different name to the licensed entity). If the company is not in that document, it is not licensed to lend digitally in Kenya. That single check filters out most of the predatory apps in circulation.
What licensing does not tell you
Being licensed means a lender is accountable. It does not mean the terms are good. Still compare the total cost in shillings, whether collateral is demanded, and what happens if you repay early. Our terms are published in full below and on every product page.
Where Brisk differs from app-only lenders
Most licensed digital lenders in Kenya are app-only — no office, no loan officer, no one to see. Brisk Credit operates 42 branches across Nairobi, Central Rift and Mt Kenya alongside the digital application. You can apply on your phone and still walk into a branch if something needs a human.
